Lela Marie Bevard, 81, of Mounds passed away Thursday, June 24, 2004 at the Glenpool Health Care Center. She was born on March 1, 1923 in Tulsa, OK to Pinkney Lee and Stella Ann (Cummins) Bevard. Mrs. Bevard was a homemaker who loved to sew. She was also a member of the Liberty Baptist Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her parents Pinkney and Stella Summers, her husband J.C. "Bud" Bevard and Eight brothers.

Survivors include her three children Shirley Steelman of Beggs, Marilyn Glassco of Mounds and Larry Bevard of Owasso, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, a sister Mae McCullough of Bartlesville and Brother David Summers of Tucson, AZ.

Graveside services will be on Saturday, June 26, 2004 at the Duck Creek Cemetery, in Mounds with Brother Mark Williams officiating. Services are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 25, 2004 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
