Juanita M. Bryant

 

Juanita M. Bryant, 87, former resident of Okmulgee passed away in Stillwater, OK on Saturday, May 1, 2004. She was born June 27, 1916 in Salem, Missouri to Andy Layfate and Nora (Dennis) Jack. Juanita graduated from Henryetta High School in 1934. She was Deputy County Clerk at the courthouse in Okmulgee when she met Roy Bryant of Henryetta. On August 10, 1940 they were married. She loved to read western historical novels. She was a member of the Sesame Club and the Butler United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her sons Dr. Thomas R. Bryant and his wife Cheryl of Edmond, OK and Dr. Richard Jack Bryant and his wife Terry of Stillwater, OK. There are seven grandchildren and one great grandchild, Her brother Larry "Sam" Jack of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska are also surviving.

She was preceded in death by her Parents Andy and Nora Jack, five brothers and one sister.

Funeral Services are Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee with the Reverend David Sanders Officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery under the Direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
