"Dignity without Compromise"
Harold Cameron 80, a resident of Okmulgee died Saturday, June 26, 2004 in Okmulgee. He was born in Henryetta, OK to George John and Hattie B. (Jackson) Cameron on November 19, 1923. Mr. Cameron graduated from Dewar High School in 1941. He then served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WW II, being stationed in the South Pacific. Following his discharge, he returned to Henryetta and was employed by Eagle Picher for 14 years, then worked for several Non-Destructive Inspection Companies retiring from Capital X-ray in Sapulpa after 28 years. Mr. Cameron was a Life Time member of the Veteranís of Foreign Wars. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Montie Cameron, and five brothers Lawrence Lott Lewis, Charles Arlie Lewis, John Leslie Lewis, William D. Cameron and Donald M. Cameron.
Survivors include three daughters Sunny Carol Russo and husband Joseph of Saylorsburg, PA, Elaine Withrow of Tulsa, Le Anne and husband Noel Cameron Villanueva of Okmulgee, a step-daughter Kelli Love and husband Bill of Okmulgee, a twin sister, Geraldine Stubbs of Henryetta, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at 10 am at the McClendon-Winters Chapel with Rev. Jeff Vernon officiating. The U.S. Marine Reserve Unit at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta will provide veteranís interment under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee. The Casket will remain closed.
Pallbearers will be Oscar Brownfield, Jr. Gardenhire, Bill Chambers, Floyd Friend, Chub Painter and Charles Condren.
