Blanche Joann Chambers
Blanche Joann Chambers. Longtime Okmulgee resident, died Saturday morning, July 3, 2004 at St. Edwards Medical Center in Ft. Smith, Arkansas at the age of 84. She was born February 8, 1920 in Greeley, Colorado to James Squire and Nancy Margaret (Melton) Chambers. She attended school in Preston and worked as a waitress and hostess in local restaurants and later was a hotel desk clerk, retiring in 1973. Blanche moved to Van Buren, Arkansas in 1998 to be with her niece, Janet (Hill) Hebensperger. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Mildred Young, Madge Smith, Augusta Hill, Grace Anderson, and Helen Day, and three brothers, Frank, Fred and Lee Chambers.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Reverend Ralph Mills officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday morning at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
