Juanita Sweet Child
Juanita Sweet Child, 83, of Okmulgee passed away on Sunday, October 02, 2005 at Cedar Crest in Broken Arrow. She was born on September 4, 1922 in Bryant, OK to Paris and Bertha (Johns) Sweet. On November 6, 1942 she married Stuart Child in Okmulgee. Mrs. Child was very active she worked at First National Bank for twenty-five years, she played guard on her High School team and then on an independent team, She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee where she was once a Sunday school teacher. She bowled for fifty years with Kathryn Talent and Dutch McVeigh. Mrs. Child was preceded in death by her Parents Paris and Bertha Sweet, three brothers George Sweet, Earnest Sweet, Floyd Sweet and a sister Dessie Sweet.
Survivors include her husband Stuart Child of the home, her children Edwina Gray and her husband Will of Dallas, TX, Kim Bonham and her husband Ernie of Wichita, KS, Larry Child and his wife Diana of Okmulgee, her brothers and sisters Ruby Geasland of Tahlequah, OK, Delores Wilson of San Antonio, TX, Billie Fanning of Oklahoma City, OK and Don Sweet of Garland, TX. Seven Grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Chapel services will be on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at 2:00 PM at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee, OK with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
Casketbearers will be Everett Allen, Jim Robinson, Bill Milroy, Ernie Bonham, Bill Barnes and Doug Geasland.
