"Dignity without Compromise"
Norma Drake 72, a longtime resident of Okmulgee died on Sunday, November 6, 2004 in Okmulgee. Norma was born on February 16, 1932 in Webb City, Oklahoma. She had worked as a painting contractor until her retirement. She loved quilting, needlework and cooking for friends and family. Mrs. Drake was a member of the Morris First Assembly of God Church. Her husband, Lester Drake in 1979 and her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Toni and Russell Thomas of Okmulgee and Judy and Wes Perry of Clermont, Florida, a son and daughter in law Luther and Kathy Burklin of Wilson, Oklahoma, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Friday, November 12, 2004 at 2 pm at the McClendon-Winters Chapel in Okmulgee. Rev. C.R. Franklin will officiate. Burial will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday at the funeral home from 11 am until 8 pm.
