McCLENDON-WINTERS FUNERAL HOME "Dignity without Compromise"
Bertia Lee Fitzgerald Bertia Lee Fitzgerald, longtime Okmulgee resident, died
Wednesday, June 23 2004 at the Cherry Creek Nursing Home in Wichita, Kansas at
the age of 84. She was born May 4, 1920 in Walters, Oklahoma to Lee Roy and
Callie (Reese) Bright. She married Daniel Edward Fitzgerald in Seminole and they
resided there until 1957, moving to Okmulgee. She retired from Ball Brother
Glass Plant and was an active member of the Lioness Club and a volunteer at the
Okmulgee Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Fitzgerald was a member of the First Baptist
Church. Due to her health, she moved to Wichita, Kansas ten years ago where she
resided until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and
a brother, Jimmy Bright. Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Jerry and
Terri Fitzgerald of Oklahoma City, a daughter, Janice K. Houser of Kansas, three
brothers, Melvin Bright of Missouri, Delvin Bright of Kansas, and Curtis Bright
of Arizona, a sister, Jo Gooden of Missouri, three grandchildren and three great
grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 4:00 P.M. Monday, June 28,
2004 at the Maple Grove Cemetery with Reverend David Hamilton officiating.
Viewing will be Sunday from 1-6 at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the
direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. |
