George Ogden Greene

George Ogden Greene, 72, of Beggs passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 04, 2003. He was born December 12, 1930 in Pratt, KS to Ogden Worley and Lois (Russell) Greene. He married Linda Carrol List on March 11, 1983 in Miami, OK. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer in the aeronautics industry for Boeing and retired from Terex Unit Rig. Mr. Greene has lived in the Beggs area for about eight years after moving from Glenpool. He loved hunting, restoring antique tractors, gardening animals and helping with his wife’s green houses. George was a Mason, Eastern Star, and the treasurer of Winchester and in the Engineering Society. He was in the Army where he worked in France.

Survivors include his wife Linda Greene of the home two daughters Kathy Stumbaugh of Enterprise, AL, Linda Schmitt of Oak Park, CA, three sons Jeffery Greene of Madison, WI, Michael Greene of St. Louis, MO, Chris Greene of Lawrence Kansas a sister Gretchen Baldwin of Warsaw, IN and a brother Gary Greene of Lincoln, NE. Twelve grandchildren also survive.

His Parents Ogden and Lois Greene preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be 2:00 pm on Friday, November 7, 2003 at the Beggs Cemetery with the Reverend Robert Yandell Officiating. Masonic Rites will be given at the Cemetery also.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs. The family will be receiving friends from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Services are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs.
