Delora Ellen Hamilton


Delora Ellen Hamilton, a resident of Jenks, died Sunday morning, May 23, 2004 at SouthCrest Hospital in Tulsa. She was 80 years of age. Mrs. Hamilton was born April 28, 1924 in Tuskegee, Oklahoma to Buel and Lela Rosetta (Dunnavant) Gregory. She married Orley Clay Hamilton on June 28, 1942 in Wagner County, Oklahoma. They resided in Preston, Glenpool and Jenks and Mrs. Hamilton had worked as a nurses aide for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and five brothers, Willard, A.T., Vernon, Charles and E.B. Gregory.

Survivors include a daughter, Jane Martin of Jenks, two sons, Nolen Hamilton of Glenpool and Dean Hamilton of Tulsa, two brothers, Bill Gregory and Cecil Gregory, both of Tulsa, four sisters, Alpha Mandeville, Zelma Pittman, and Darlene Sharp, all of Tulsa and Ina Wakefield of Phoenix, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May26, 2004 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Allen Ray Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs. Casket bearers will be Wade Hamilton, Greg Hamilton, Mike Hamilton, Pat Hamilton, Matt Hamilton, Norman Martin, and Ronnie Kell. Friends may visit the funeral home from 2-8 P.M. on Tuesday.
