Marie Rose (Slape) Hancock

Marie Rose (Slape) Hancock died in Tulsa on Monday, March 3, 2003. She was born on March 13, 1910 in Donathan, Missouri to George Washington and Nancy Jane Childress. She was a longtime resident of Okmulgee County, retired from the Okmulgee School System and was a member of the Church of Christ. Her Husbands, parents, sons Adrian and Eugene Slape, one granddaughter Rhonda Kay Robbins, and two grandsons Brad Slape and Dennis Johnson preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters; Daisy and husband David Johnson of Tulsa and Jerolene and husband James Dearmore of Okmulgee, two sons James and wife Colleen Slape of Okmulgee and John and wife Paula Slape of Raleigh, North Carolina, and one daughter in law Vella Jean Slape of Okmulgee, 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at the Church of Christ at 2 pm. Jack Shock will officiate. Interment will follow in the Morris Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10-8 pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
