Vera Marjorie Harvey

Vera Marjorie Harvey, 83, of Beggs, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born August 18, 1920 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to M.D. and Maude (Harlan) Harvey. She graduated from NSU and taught school, and then worked at Harvey’s Grocery Store and Harvey’s Dry Goods. She was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1936, also the Eastern Star and a volunteer at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include one daughter and son in law Tana and Mickey Thompson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, grandchildren: Mike Thompson of Broken Arrow, Michelle Castles of Broken Arrow, and Molly Callison of Tulsa, a sister Mary Nell Rackleff of Tulsa, a brother William Jamison of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her parents, husband Paul Raymond Harvey, a son Pete Harvey, two brothers Jim Jamison and Jack Jamison, two sisters, Betty McElroy and Lois Jamison, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 12, 2004 at 10 am at the First Baptist Church in Beggs. Bro. Thom Chappelle will officiate. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews, Jack Harvey, Larry Harvey, Buz Henson, Chace Jamison, Jack Rackleff, Jim Rackleff and Joe Rackleff. Visitation will be at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs on Friday 12-8 pm. McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs will be in charge of arrangements.
