Mary Helen Heck

Mary Helen Heck, lifelong Morris area resident, died Thursday afternoon, October 21, 2004 in Okmulgee at the age of 65. She was born January 6, 1939 in Morris to L.M. and Robbie M. (Allen) Clark. She graduated from Morris High School in 1957. Mary became a nurse, working at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital for ten years, Highland Park Nursing Home for five years and later Bono’s Nursing Home where she was director of nursing for three years. Mary was very dedicated to her nursing career. She enjoyed camping, swimming and being at the lake and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Morris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, James Lee Whitaker in 1969 and C.E. Heck in 1991, and two sisters, Billie Louise Clark and Judy Irene McCart.

Survivors include her children, Robin Jeme’ Whitaker of Morris, Clark Whitaker and wife Joy of Morris, Kelly Johnson and husband Dave of Schulter, Tom Heck and wife Stephanie of Moline, Ill., and Earl Heck and wife Erin of Laverno, Italy, a brother, Tom Clark of Morris, eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be Monday, October 25, 2004 starting at 11:00 A.M. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Morris with the family receiving friends from 6-8 P.M.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church of Morris with Reverend Jeff Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the Morris Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Lloyd Holland, Jerry Holland, Dave Reynolds, Ralph Johnston, Jason McCart and Bob Padilla. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Morris.
