Elsie M. Holland

Elsie M. Holland, 94, of Sparkman, Arkansas, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006 in Fordyce, Arkansas. She was born April 28, 1912 in Preston, Oklahoma to Randolph Wilton and Elsie (Lynch) Huckaby. She was raised in Okmulgee County and met her husband, William Lester Holland, in Choteau. They lived many places, starting in Beggs where they owned a café. They later moved to California, Missouri and then retired in Okmulgee. At the age of 85 she moved to Sparkman, where her daughters lived. While living in Okmulgee, Elsie was a member of Crosstown Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Warren, Arkansas, when she died. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Donna Roberts and 12 siblings. Survivors include her children, Norma Wilkerson of Okmulgee, Joyce Shell of Bull Head, Arizona, Dorothy Standley of St. James, Missouri, Dewayne Holland of Washburn, Missouri, Lloyd Holland of Manning, Arkansas, Sharon Rucker of Sparkman, Arkansas and Lavone Jackson of Sparkman, Arkansas, a half sister, bertha May of Norman and over 60 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 23, 2006 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Henryetta with Reverend Charles McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery. Casketbearers will be grandsons. Fiends may visit the funeral home from 12-8 P.M. on Friday.
