Perry Odis Hurst

Perry Odis Hurst 79, resident of Okmulgee died in Okmulgee on Saturday, June 12, 2004. He was born on December 29, 1924 in Leonard, Oklahoma to Perry Commodore and Eula Belle (Hughes) Hurst. He had lived in California and Texas before returning to Oklahoma and the Okmulgee area in 1972. He retired from the Jenks Public School System 17 years ago. He married Geraldine Luella Sullins on March 25, 1944 in Okmulgee. His parents, a daughter Rowena Jean Morse and a grandson Mark Morse, preceded Mr. Hurst in death.

Survivors include his wife Geraldine of the home, three sons and daughters in law Sonny and Sandie Hurst of Okmulgee, Kenny and Shirley Hurst of Okmulgee and Ronnie and Sandra Hurst of Springfield, Illinois one daughter and son in law Leona and Bobby Ball of Dallas, Texas, two brothers James Hurst of Durant, Oklahoma and Buddy Hurst of Okmulgee, one sister Minnie Williams of Okmulgee, 26 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 10 am at the McClendon-Winters Chapel with Les Sullins officiating. Interment will follow in the Senora Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, June 14, 2004 from 11 until 8 pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ted Sullins, Carlos Hurst, Jonathan Bowersmith, Junior Sloan Bryan Hurst, Greg Hurst, Aaron Hurst and Scott Hurst.
