Margaret Merrill McKenny

Margaret Merrill McKenny 95, longtime Okmulgee resident died in Tulsa on Monday, April 11, 2005. She was born September 21, 1909 in Van Buren, Arkansas to Jere Hill and Fannie (Merrill) McKenny. Margaret worked in the office at the Phillips Refinery in Okmulgee for over 45 years. She was a devoted member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Okmulgee, where she was very active in the St. Maryís Altar Guild for 75 years. Also she was a strong supporter of the Okmulgee Education Foundation. Her parents, a brother; Jere Claus McKenny and a nephew; William H. McKenny preceded her in death.

Survivors include one nephew; Jere and his wife Anne McKenny of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 2 pm at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. Fr. Norman Alexandre will be the celebrant. McClendon-Winters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials in Margaretís name be made to the St. Maryís Altar Guild c/o The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 214 N. Seminole, Okmulgee,OK 74447.
