Opal Carey Pinneo

Opal Carey Pinneo, 91, longtime resident of Okmulgee, died in Okmulgee Monday, December 20, 2004. She was born in Checotah, Oklahoma on January 8, 1913 to John and Katherine Carey and graduated from Morris High School. She and her husband Art Pinneo were married May 29, 1031 in Okemah, Oklahoma. They founded the family owned company, Pinneo Electric in the 1930ís. Opal was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee. Her parents, a son, Jim Pinneo and her brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur Pinneo of the home, one son and wife Jerry and Barbara Pinneo of Okmulgee, a daughter and husband Janice and James Moody of Fayetteville, Arkansas, one daughter in law, Nancy Pinneo of Okmulgee, eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at 2 pm at the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday 1pm until 8 pm. The casket will be closed. The family suggests contributions in her name to the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee. Services are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
