McCLENDON-WINTERS FUNERAL HOME "Dignity without Compromise"
Evalyn Smith Evalyn Smith, 78, a long time resident of Okmulgee, died in
Tulsa on Thursday, December 9, 2004. She was born March 19, 1926 in Wagoner
County to Earl and Eulila "Lou" (Kevett) Potter. Mrs. Smith married her husband
Paul William Smith in Okmulgee on April 24, 1948. She was Southern Baptist and
live in the Okmulgee area all of her life. She loved music and dancing,
babysitting, TV, gardening and playing with her grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Lou
Potter, two brothers Hubert Potter and Clyde Boyde Potter, and a sister Nellie
Ann Shrum. Survivors include her husband Paul William Smith, a daughter
Sharon Kay Smith both of the home, a son Paul Wayne Smith and his wife Zeborah
of Okmulgee, a daughter Carolyn Ann Eslick and her husband Eric of Preston two
sisters Elsie Drew, Gail Lee McIntosh and a brother Manuel E. Potter all of
Okmulgee, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many other relatives
and friends. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 15,
2004 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee with Pastor George
Luther Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery under
the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Casketbearers will be Charlie B. Smith, Andy Mays, Mickey
Howell, Jack Smith, Larry Jacobs, Bill Bennett, Jack Smith Jr., Jack Bennett,
and Gary M. Todd.
