Calvin Forrest Southwick,
lifelong Okmulgee resident, passed away Saturday, August 23,
2003 at his home. He was 76 years of age. Mr. Southwick was born April 23, 1927
to the late Curtis Cleo and Florence (Powell) Southwick in Okfuskee. He was a
Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He was a machinist
and a Member of VFW Post 1189. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife,
Betty (Taylor) Southwick. Survivors include three sons, Calvin Southwick and
wife Donna of Morris, Jimmy Southwick and wife Stella of Kansas City, Kansas,
and Tony Southwick and wife Cathy of Morris, two brothers, Harold Southwick of
Okmulgee and Charles "Dick" Southwick of Harrison, Arkansas, four sisters, Doris
Brewer of Seminole, Mary Yeager and Virginia Smith, both of Okmulgee and Carolyn
Parker of Morris, three step-children, Clyde Corn of Morris, Wanda Price of
Oklahoma City and Margaret Ann Fry of Earlsboro, nine grandchildren and one
great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held
10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at the Okfuskee Cemetery with Reverend Glen
Rowan officiating. Military rites will be conducted by VFW post 1189 of Okmulgee
and VFW Post 539 of Henryetta. Casketbearers will be Kevin Southwick, Jimmy Jo
Southwick, Billy Southwick, Calvin Southwick, Jimmy Southwick and Tony
Southwick. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral
Home of Okmulgee.
