Doris M. (Lowe) St. Cyr

Doris M. (Lowe) St. Cyr, a resident of Beggs, died at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa on Thursday, December 30, 2004 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born April 16, 1935 to Emmitt and Dorothy (Stewart) Lowe. She married Karl L. St. Cyr on July 8, 1952 in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was a loving mother, nanny, daughter and sister. She devoted her life to loving and supporting her daughter and grandchildren in all they did. She worked as a bookkeeper for CR Anthonys. She also owned Dorries Tee and Tops helped her parents in the operation of running Beards Hardware. She also managed the Hilltop Café. She was an active member of the Community. She served as a Council member and Vice Mayor of Beggs for the City of Beggs. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Order 33.

Survivors include two daughters, Karla Gaskins and Fiance Roger Pope of Beggs and Tammy Holderness and husband Mitchell of Beggs, five grandchildren, father, Emitt Lowe of Henryetta, sister, Betty Akers of Kansas and mother-in-law, Velma St. Cyr and many other friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Karl Leslie Str. Cyr on August 24, 1983, her parents Dorothy and Frank Beard, one brother Kenneth Beard and one sister Linda Guinn.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, January 3, 2004 at the First Assembly of God church in Beggs with Reverend Robert Yandell and Reverend David Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in the Beggs Cemetery. Viewing will be on Sunday, 1-6 pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs

Casketbearers will be Larry Harvey, Danny Melton, Ron Ballard, Ricky Mitchell, Wilbur Hamilton, Richard Crow, John Dodd Johnny Hereden
