R.C. Stephens

 

R.C. Stephens, Okmulgee, died Thursday, April 22, 2004 at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital. He was 79 years of age. Mr. Stephens was born June 10, 1924 in Okmulgee to Robert C. and Nora J. (Griffin) Stephens. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Lucille Daniels, who preceded him in death. Mr. Stephens retired from Delta Airlines after 30 years of service, having been in Springfield, Nashville, Raleigh, and finally Tulsa where he retired. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Okmulgee. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Wyvonne Ramsey and Billie Larocco. Survivors include his daughter, Karla Driscoll and husband Mike of Mandeville, LA, a sister, Ola Fletcher and husband Roscoe of Oklahoma City and two grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 23, 2004 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
