Joyce Valena Storck

Joyce Valena Storck, longtime Okmulgee resident, passed away Sunday evening, November 16, 2003 at her home. She was 70 years of age. Mrs. Storck was born May 21, 1933 in Okfuskee County to Calvin Henry and Phebe Tennessee (Gragg) Fite. She married Marvin Lee Storck who preceded her in death on January 9, 1994. She was an operator for Southwestern Bell telephone until her retirement. She was a member of Grand Avenue Church of Christ. In addition to her husband, Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Minnie, Rosa, Ola, Viola, and Eula, and four brothers, Edmond, John, J.C. and Herbert.

Survivors include a brother, Elva Fite of Tulsa, a sister, Letha Whitfield of Silver City, New Mexico, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 20, 2003 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Mr. Jack Shock of the Grand Avenue Church of Christ officiating. Casketbearers will be James Slape, Cliff Reeve, Owen Bailey, Bud Turner, Vernon Himes, and Orville Spears. Friends may visit the funeral home Wednesday from 3-6 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
