James Rudolph "Huck" Williamson

James Rudolph "Huck" Williamson was born on July 16, 1940 in Beggs, the oldest child of Bill and Lorene Williamson, both preceding him in death, departed this life on Saturday, May 29, 2004 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour at an early age, attending Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Later uniting with First Baptist Church South, where he attended faithfully until he went to Leisure Manor Nursing Home. He attended school at Pleasant Hill Elementary, Wheatley High School, Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi and Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma. He worked at Oklahoma State Tech in printing and bindery as an instructor, at Southern Hills Country Club, then at Meadowbrook Country Club as manager of the Menís locker room until he retired. His long time companion, Stella Mae Hughes, preceded him in death, also a sister, Thelma Lee Sattiewhite. Left to mourn his passing are four children; daughters, Lunjua Wilson of Beggs, and Drumeika Stewart of Waco, Texas; a son, Joe Howard Ellis Williamson and a step-son, Carl Jones, both of Beggs, six sisters, Mary E. Sharp (John) and Wilma J. Burns (Jimmy) of Cleveland, Ohio, Gloria E. Kyles (Leroy) of Los Angelos, Clovella Day of Desoto, Texas, Kathy Redeau (Kenneth) and Willie Jo Thompson (James), both of Beggs, four brothers, Will Jr. (LeeDora) of Tulsa, Rocky Ronnie of Los Angelos, Floyd (Juanita) and Clarence of Beggs, seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Special recognition to the staff at Leisure Manor Nursing Home.

A Home Going Celebration will be Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church South with the Reverend Maurice Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery with the Brotherhood of the First Baptist Church South serving as casketbearers. Arrangements are entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
