William "Leon" Woodring

William "Leon" Woodring, a resident of Tulsa, died Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was 80 years of age. He was born January 19, 1924 in Cleveland, OK to the late Raymond and Willie (Tugman) Woodring and married Gladys Craig on March 30, 1967 in Fayetteville, AR. He retired from Tulsa Linen after 22 years and became co-owner of Razorback Linen and Uniform Supply in Fayetteville, retiring in 1987. He retired to the Mounds area, and traveled extensively until returning to live in Tulsa in 1998. He was a member of Newspring Family Church in Jenks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther and Newt. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Craig Woodring of the home, six children, Darla Humphries and husband Doug , Linda Craig Shatto, Donnis Craig Allen, and Debbie Craig Jordan, all of Tulsa, Robert Craig and wife Lucille of Midwest City and Donald Craig of Sapulpa, a sister, Ruthie Conner Taylor of Bethany, a half brother, Frank McKinzy of Afton, twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. A funeral service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, September 4, 2004 at the Newspring Family Church in Jenks with Pastor Mark L. Merrill officiating. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery with Todd Eberle, David Allen, Tim Richardson, James Richardson, Morey McAfee and Bobby Conner serving as casketbearers. Honorary casketbearers will be Robert Manners and Charlie Conners. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Friday at the funeral home.
