Lucille Reagan Lewis Williams Young
Lucille Reagan Lewis Williams Young, a lifelong Beggs resident, passed away Sunday morning, February 23, 2003 at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital. She was 90 years of age. Mrs. Young was born August 21, 1912 to Louis W. and Sarah (Griffen) Reagan in Beggs. She had been a member of the Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church for 66 years. Mrs. Reagan was involved in the Langston University Extension Service as a 4-H Club Volunteer, she was a youth teacher for the Independent N.W. District Sunday School Institute, Secretary of the 5th Sunday School Institute for 12 years, President of the Junior Women Mission, President of the Senior Women Mission, Treasurer of the Oklahoma Baptist Junior Women Convention for 12 years, loved reading and poetry and loved working with the youth. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two children, Rayfield Lewis and Irma Jean Robinson. She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Daisy Louise Cole of Beggs, two sons, Sherman L. Lewis of Edmond and Ernest Joe Lewis of Beggs, a sister, Jonnie Mae Montgomery Knight of Phoenix, AZ, sixteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 1, 2003 at the Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Elmer Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Tuskegee Cemetery near Edna. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home from 12-8 P.M. Friday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
