Clifford Alsip
Clifford L. Alsip was born August 18, 1918 and passed away
January 28, 2009.
He was born and raised on a small farm in central
Oklahoma near Romulus by his father Carl Alsip and mother Nora (Bray) Alsip.
He joined the Army during the Second World War and
was honorably discharged in February of 1946.
Upon leaving the Army he traveled and worked for
several companies including Halliburton.
In 1960, Okmulgee became his home when he arrived to
start his own business in the oil field service and cementing industry.
Clifford was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (Purtell)
Alsip, his parents, one brother, Bill Alsip of Tecumseh, one sister, Alice
Edwards of Ponca City and two grandsons; Leslie Eugene Rogers and Michael Lee
George.
He is survived by six children; son, Charles R.
Alsip of Tulsa, daughter, Donna Jean Cargola and husband Mike of Okmulgee,
daughter, Karen Joy and husband Jesse of Oklahoma City, daughter, Kendra Ann
Parker and husband Charles of Newcastle, son, Ronald Lewis Alsip and wife Paula
of Kentucky, daughter Dianna J. Baker and husband Donald of Okmulgee, fourteen
grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren
and many loving and caring friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 2, 2009 at the
McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee.
Reverend Robert Waits will be officiating.
Interment will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery.
Viewing will be on Sunday, February 1, 2009 from 12:00 until 6:00 P.M.
