William Roy Anderson

William Roy Anderson, 79, died on Thursday, November 13, 2008 in Okmulgee. He was born to William Albert and Lillie Mable (Marshall) Anderson on July 14, 1929 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Roy married Dolores J. Brown on July 19, 1952 in El Reno, Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas after 39 plus years. He was an ordained deacon and minister. Roy belonged to the First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Betty Jean.

Roy is survived by his wife Dolores J. (Brown) Anderson, two daughters; Lisa K. Holton and husband Mark of Palmdale, California, and Jayme D. Hankins of Okmulgee, son-in-law, Steve Hankins of Okmulgee, one granddaughter, Brooke Provence and husband Mickey, and four grandsons; Peter Hankins of Okmulgee, Garrett Hankins and wife Michelle of Bixby, Oklahoma, John Douglas Holton of Palmdale, California, and Alex Michael Holton also of Palmdale, California.

Services will be on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Reverend Garrett Hankins and Reverend Jerry Fielder will be assisting. Casketbearers will be the Adult 3 Men’s Sunday School Class. Viewing will be at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee on Sunday, November 16, 2008 from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The family suggests that contributions be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in care of First Baptist Church.
