Archie Lee Bailey
Archie Lee Bailey, longtime resident of Morris, passed away Monday, May
25, 2009 at Walnut Grove Living Center in McAlester, Oklahoma.
Archie was born near Antlers, Oklahoma on September 20, 1922.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Nellie Bailey, three
brothers; Virgil, Olin and Houston Bailey, and one granddaughter Carrie Vaughn.
He is survived by his wife Sammy Bailey of Baptist Village in Okmulgee,
one sister, Margie Harvey of Derby, Kansas, a son, Andy Lee Bailey and wife
Annie of Hiko, Nevada, three daughters; Barbara Bell and husband Gerald of
Antlers, Oklahoma, Jackie Vaughn and husband Donnie of Morris, Oklahoma,
Kathyanne Davis and husband Matt of Wilburton, Oklahoma, also six grandchildren;
Ricky Bell of Antlers, Justin Vaughn of Morris, Dana Hugle and husband Gary of
Wilburton, Kaylee Cox and husband Brandon of Morris, Ross Davis of Oklahoma City
and Wes Bailey of Las Vegas, Nevada, seven great grandchildren and five
great-great grandchildren.
Archie was a ranch manager for many years on ranches in Arizona, Florida,
and Oklahoma with his own ranch at Morris, Oklahoma.
He spent his last few years on his daughter’s ranch near Wilburton,
Oklahoma.
There will be a celebration of Archie’s life on Friday, May 29th
at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at the Morris Cemetery under the direction of the
McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
Chaplin Jack Hawkins of the Heartland Hospice will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons; Justin Vaughn, Ross Davis, Ricky and
Chad Bell, Brandon Cox , Gary Hugle and Wes Bailey
