Nola Evon Barthell

Nola Evon Barthell, 64, a resident of Henryetta, died Friday afternoon, December 16, 2005 at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 29, 1940 in Jasper, Arkansas to Leonard and Arzella (Morgan) Holt. She married William Neirling Barthell on April 17, 1958 in Morris. Nola worked in the church nursery for many years while living in Oklahoma City, and sewed blankets and other gifts for many organizations such as Feed the Children. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Allen, Woodrow, Frank and Ishmael Holt, and one sister Betty Lou. Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth Leftwich and husband Mike of Oklahoma City, Robin Pichler of Everett, Washington, a son, Merle Barthell and wife Quinn, son Quinton and daughter Amanda, all of Okmulgee, three grandchildren, Sara, Michael, and Justin, and a great granddaughter, Hailey. A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at the Dewar Freewill Holiness Church with Reverend Jim Holt, Nola’s brother, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Feed the Children, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
