Louvina Jane Bernard 50, a resident of Okmulgee, died in Okmulgee on Tuesday, March 18, 2003. She was born in Sacramento, California on August 26, 1952 to William Howard and Ruby Lee (Freeman) Bernard. She graduated from Will J. Reed High School in Long Beach, California and came to Okmulgee in 1988. She was preceded in death by her father and a step-father Donald James Sullins.

Survivors include a daughter Carla Renee Ross of Indianapolis, Indiana her mother Ruby Bernard of Okmulgee, a sister Bernadine and husband Shawn Tabbytite of Schulter, three brothers William Peter Bernard of Okmulgee, Woodrow Timothy Bernard of Oregon City, Oregon, Paul Arthur Bernard of San Pedro, California, , two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Wake services will be on Sunday at 7 pm until 8 pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be on Monday, March 24, 2003 at 2 pm at the Tallahasse Indian Church and burial in the Tallahasse Cemetery.
