Mary Esther Bingman
75, longtime resident of Okmulgee, died in Okmulgee Tuesday, July 14, 2009.
Esther was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 5, 1933 to Walter Basil and
Helen Cynthia (Markham) McEvoy.
She graduated from Monte Cassino High School in Tulsa and attended and
graduated from Tulsa University.
She moved to Okmulgee and retired from Creoks Mental Health Services as an
administrative assistant. Esther
was very much loved and involved in her church.
She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Okmulgee, where
she was active in the Altar Society, served on the Pastoral Council, and the
Finance Committee was also a member of PEO Chapter ER.
She loved to play bridge and be with her friends.
Her parents, a sister Helen Margaret Fairlie and a brother in law Ed
Fairlie preceded her in death.
Survivors include
her loving daughter; Susan Bingman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one sister; Emma
and husband Tom Newhouse of Houston, Texas, four nephews; Bob and wife Peggy
Newhouse, Brian and wife Diana Newhouse, Michael Newhouse all of Houston, Texas
and Mark and wife Joyce Fairlie of Tulsa, one grand niece; Amber, special
friends Clint and Stephanie Eager and family of Okmulgee, and Vickie Coleman of
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 20, 2009 at 11 am, at St. Anthony
Catholic Church with Father Benjamin Vima officiating.
Rosary will be recited at the McClendon-Winters Chapel on Sunday at 7 pm.
Visitation will be at the funeral home 1-8 pm Sunday.
Pallbearers will be
Clint Eager, Larry Biddle, Mike Newhouse, Brian Newhouse, Bob Newhouse, and Jim
