Pauline Geraldine Brannon, longtime Okmulgee resident, passed away Wednesday morning, September 10, 2003 at Fountain View Nursing Home of Henryetta. She was 88 years of age. Mrs. Brannon was born November 24, 1914 in Avant, Oklahoma to George Robert and Trixie Elizabeth (Jones) Gideon. She married William Martin "Mart" Brannon on June 5, 1937 in Skiatook, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 6, 1989. Mrs. Brannon was a school teacher, having taught 32 years before retiring. She taught in Woolco (near Avant), Deer Creek, Edmond, Okmulgee and retired while teaching in Preston. She was a member of Butler Memorial Methodist Church, Oklahoma retired Teacher’s Association, OEA, and formerly a Pony Girl. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donnie Gideon.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Billie Brannon of Morris, a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Chelsea Cook of Broken Arrow, two brothers, Jack Gideon of Bartlesville and Bill Gideon of Owasso, four sisters, Lucille Ramsey of Tulsa, Mildred Bowman of Skiatook, Margery Biggerstaff of Yukon, and Helen Lee of Bartlesville, five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 12, 2003 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Reverend Bill Bowman officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home from 1-8 P.M. Thursday, and on Friday morning. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
