"Dignity without compromise"


Richard Allen Brown Sr., 44 died in Okmulgee on Friday, November1, 2002. Mr. Brown was a resident of Beggs. He was born on October 1, 1958 in Okmulgee to Marchie and Betty (Wolf) Brown. He was a loving father and uncle, he worked was a machinist. His interests included softball, pool, and fishing with family and as a father and uncle he attended most family athletic events as well as Beggs High School Football games. Richard attended the First Baptist Church in Beggs he also observed the Creek and Euche Indian way of life. His father Marchie Brown preceded him in death in 1982.

Survivors include

his mother Betty Brown of the home in Beggs,

three sons Marchie Brown, Richard Brown Jr. and John Brown,

two daughters Candice Brown and Lindsey Brown,

three sisters Donna Maxwell of Okemah, Katherine Polen of Tulsa and Mindy Brown of Okemah,

Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and friends.

Wake services were held at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home at 7 pm on Monday with Pastor Johnny Leybus and Pastor George Henry Autaubo officiating. Funeral services will be at 2 pm on Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at the Jubilee Christian Church; Pastor Scott Campbell of the Church on the Move in Tulsa will officiate with Pastor Johnny Leybus assisting. Burial will be at the Newtown Indian Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.

Pallbearers will be Franklin Brown, John Brown, Randal Brown Mike Deo, Glenn Brown, Vince Deo, and Roger Bell.
