Opal Ola Cannon

Opal Ola Cannon, 86, of Okmulgee passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born September 3, 1917 in Shirley, Arkansas to Allen and Etta (Chandler) Stanley. Opal was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Okmulgee for many years and had worked in the Restaurant industry and for a period of time owned a café. She lived most of her life here in the Okmulgee and Nuyaka area.

Those that preceded Mrs. Cannon in death are her parents, her husband Albert Roberts a brother Pate Stanley, five sisters Pearl Harmon, Eula Aldridge, Bertha Fagg, Hazel Aldridge and Georgia "Rea" Flemings.

Survivors include her son Tony Roberts of Houston, TX, a daughter Barbara Hamon of Okmulgee, five grandchildren and five Great grandchildren. One sister Elva Jones of Texas also survives.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 pm on Saturday October 4, 2003 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Okmulgee with the Reverend Lawrence Matlock officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.

Viewing will be from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm on Friday October 3, 2003. The Family will be receiving friends from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Funeral Homes Chapel.
