Virgie Casselman
Virgie Theresa Casselman, lifelong Morris resident,
passed away Sunday evening, May 18, 2008 at St. John Medical Center. She was 76
years of age. Virgie was born April 25, 1932 in Morris to W.A. and Bertha (Whisman)
Brill. She graduated from Morris High School and later married James R.
Casselman on September 12, 1953 in Morris. She was a dedicated and faithful
member of the Liberty Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Virgie was a member of the Okmulgee County Election Board, and a Red Hat Lady.
She also worked for many years as a meter reader for R.E.C., was a product
demonstrator and had worked as a census taker. She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband and a brother, Willie Brill. Survivors include her daughter,
Donna Anderson and husband Gary of Tulsa, son, Jim Casselman and wife Benita of
Okmulgee, grandchildren, Jessica, James and Michael Casselman and Catherine and
Christine Anderson, two brothers, Curtis Brill and wife Dorothy of Tulsa, Donald
Brill and wife LaVeda of Morris, a sister, Thelma June and Bud of Chandler,
sisters-in-law, Doris Brill of Broken Arrow, Valta Casselman of Okmulgee, Lorene
Casselman of Morris, and Carol Ornelles and husband Emory of New Orleans,
Louisiana, uncle, Wiley Whisman and wife Mae of Morris, and her aunts, Retha
Flanary of Morris, Dee Foster of Morris and Jeannie Allbritton and husband Rex
of Henryetta.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 22,
2008 at the Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Ward officiating. Interment
will follow in the Morris Cemetery. Casketbearers will be James Casselman,
Michael Casselman, Daniel Martin, Brion Leist, Doug Olinger and Mason Martin.
The family will receive friends from 5-6 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral
home. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home
