Janie Sue Chambers

Janie Sue Chambers, 57, died Monday afternoon, October 30, 2006 at St. John Medical Center with her family at her side. She was born January 8, 1949 in Okmulgee to Mitchell "Junior" Wesley, Jr. and Mary Jane (Owen) Wesley. She graduated as Salutatorian from Beggs High School in 1967 and married her high school sweetheart, Max Chambers on June 17, 1967 at the First Baptist Church of Beggs. They made their home in Mounds where her and her husband owned and operated Chambers Mill. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mounds. Janie loved her family. She dedicated her life to her husband and daughter. Her new grandson, Boston, brought so much joy to her life. She enjoyed helping raise her nieces and nephews: Angela, Michelle, Michael and Dustin, and later their children: Kaylee, Bailee, Tatum, Coleton, Devyn, Riley and Abby. Her daughters best friends, Carla and Leslie were very special to her, she loved them as if they were her own. Janie enjoyed getting her hair done by her friend Linda for the past 25 years and spending time on the phone and hanging out with her friend Sallie. She was preceded in death by her father, Mitchell "Junior" Wesley and grandparents, Mitchell and Belle Wesley and Jess and Bertha Owen. Survivors include her husband, Max Chambers, of the home, mother, Mary Jane Wesley of Beggs, a daughter, Jenny Chambers of Sapulpa, a brother, Jim Wesley and wife Ellen Kay of Beggs, a grandson, Boston Robinson and numerous nieces and nephews. Janie was a kind, generous and compassionate person who truly cared about people, touched the lives of many and will be missed by everyone who knew her. She had strong faith in God and we know that today she is in Heaven waiting for us.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 3, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Mounds with Reverend Dick Knox officiating. Interment will following in the Beggs Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs. Casketbearers will be J.D. Chambers, Michael Chambers, Dustin Chambers, Tom Bacon, Sean Culbert and Adam Carner. Friends may visit the funeral home on Thursday from 12-8 P.M. Condolences may be sent at
