Bill Chambers
Billy (Bill) Alen Chambers, a resident of
Morris, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the age of
73. He was born September 13, 1934 to Ray Chambers, Sr. and
Ruby (Sparks) Chambers. He married Linda Siegenthaler in
Pasadena, Texas on February 15, 1972. Bill served as a
fireman for the Okmulgee Fire Department for 23 years,
retiring in 1976, then continuing a career in construction
and working for J.R.’s Security until his health no longer
permitted. Bill enjoyed watching sports on T.V. and playing
cards with his friends. Preceding him in death was his first
wife, Mary Alice Ledbetter of Morris, two loving aunts, Eula
Gibson and Ferol Graves of Mounds, a brother, Ray Chambers,
Jr. of Bartlesville and a sister Bobbie Jean Dozier of
Texas. Survivors include his wife Linda of the home,
daughter Kay Christian and husband Bobby of Bixby, Lou Ann
Robinson and husband Tim of Morris and Mandy Chambers of
Okmulgee. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Robert
Christian and wife Amber of Keifer, Camerron Summers and
Joshua Robsinson of Morris, and Caleb Taylor and Braden
Chambers of Okmulgee. Also a very special sister-in-law,
Kathlene Jones of Henryetta and his "shade tree" friends
Bobby Grummitt and J.R. Gardenhire of Okmulgee. Visitation
will be Wednesday, February 6, 2008 from 4-8 P.M. at the
McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Morris. Graveside services
will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 7, 2008 at the
Oakwood Cemetery in Mounds with Reverend C. Larry Grissom
officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the
