Olive Irene Clayton

Olive Irene Clayton, longtime Okmulgee resident, died Saturday morning, February 14, 2004 at her home. She was 83 years of age. Mrs. Clayton was born May 5, 1920 in Spiro to Charley Franklin and Ethel Mariah (Covington) Brewer. She married Buddy Carl Clayton, who preceded her in death in 1963. Mrs. Clayton was a homemaker and a member of the Grace Assembly of God. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild, and six siblings.

Survivors include three daughters, Alma Churchill of Hitchita, Lois Ramsey of Okmulgee and Deborah Weekley of Glenpool, a son, James Clifton Clayton of Lawton, a sister, Opal Clayton of Okmulgee , ten grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 19, 2004 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Salt Creek Cemetery with Mike Ramsey, Angel Gonzales, Matthew Gonzales, Frank Woodward, Corey Mitchell, and Danny Medley serving as casketbearers. Friends may visit the funeral home from 10-8 P.M. on Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
