Bessie Margaret Cline

Bessie Margaret Cline, longtime Okfuskee County resident, passed away Sunday morning, June 8, 2003 at Highland Park Nursing Home in Okmulgee. She was 97 years of age. Mrs. Cline was born September 28, 1905 in Monroe County, Ohio to Walter and Monty (Ullom) Crum. On April 3, 1926 in Woodsfield, Ohio, she married Orville Cline. In October 1929 the couple moved to Oklahoma, settling first in Wewoka and later in Pharoah and Weleetka. She was an active member of the Okemah Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for 40 years, was a member of the Sunrise Home Extension for 50 years, and was recognized as Fan of the Year in Weleetka, where she enjoyed watching her grandchildren in sports. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening.

Preceding Mrs. Cline in death were her parents, husband, two grandchildren, Ricky Miller and Angela Cline, a daughter-in-law, Wanda Cline, eleven brothers and one sister.

Survivors include three children and their spouses, Iva Jean Miller and Doyal of Okmulgee, Bill Cline and Peggy of Okemah, and Max Cline and Donna of Weleetka, two sisters, Alice Beall and husband Bob of Edison, Ohio and Gathel Harris of Marion, Ohio, one brother, Harley Crum and wife Aggie of Cardington, Ohio, four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at the Okemah Church of Christ with Mr. Roger Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta. Casketbearers will be Ronnie Cline, Bill Cline, Jr., Bret Cline, Brandon Cline, Chad Cruce, and Chris Ray. Viewing will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and the Okemah Church of Christ from 12:30 to 1:30 on Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
