Lynn J. Cook 74, a resident
of Morris, died in Morris on Wednesday, May 31, 2006. He was born in Morris
on November 23, 1931 to Lonnie Emmett and Mary Rachael (Cobb) Cook. He
graduated from high school and attended welding school in Tulsa. He was in
the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He married June Janice
Davis in Morris on February 7, 1953. Lynn was an avid sportsman and enjoyed
time with his wife, sons, family members and friends hunting and fishing. He
was a retired construction welder and was a member of the Plumbers & Pipe
Fitters Union # 430 in Tulsa. He was also a member of the Trinity Baptist
Church in Morris. His parents and a sister Anna Marie Marrs preceded him in
death.
Survivors include his wife
June of the home, two sons Terry and wife Susan Cook of Skiatook, Oklahoma,
Larry and wife Julie Cook of Cleveland, Oklahoma, one brother Lonnie Cook of
Morris, four grandchildren Curtis Cook, Sherry Cook, Alex Cook, Casey Cook
and one great granddaughter Kylie.
Pallbearers will be Chris
Ledbetter, Steve Finch, Joe Leslie, Curtis Sharp, Max Shoemake and Bill
Matthews. Honorary Bearers will be Dick Ashley, Charlie Merchant, Bud
Reynolds, Dave Reynolds Larry Longan, Bob Schultz and all members of the
Reynolds Coffee Group.
Funeral Services will be on
Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 2 pm at the Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. David
Hamilton and Rev. Garnet Cole officiating. Burial will be in the Morris
Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, 12-8 pm at the McClendon-Winters
Funeral Home in Morris.
