Donny Copeland, 47, died Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was born August 15, 1959 in Duncan to Jerry Don and Nella (Bridgeman) Copeland. Donny married the love of his life and best friend, Kyndell Handley on August 10, 1979 in Wichita Fall, Texas. He started his career with T.H. Rogers in 1987 in Duncan, Oklahoma and transferred to Okmulgee in 1991, where he was manager at the time of his death. Donny enjoyed collecting 50’s memorabilia, especially restoring old gas pumps and parking meters. Donny cherished the time he spent with his family and especially loved being with his new grandbaby and his wife Kyndell. He was a former member of the board of Okmulgee Main Street and was a great supporter of downtown Okmulgee.

Survivors include his wife, Kyndell, of the home, a son, Nick Copeland and wife Candee of Sapulpa, a daughter, Tiffany Copeland of Morris, a grandson, Kyndlee and another 2 grandchildren on the way, his mother, Nella Copeland of Duncan, mother and father-in-law, Kay and Jerald Handley of Duncan, four brothers all of Duncan and his extended family from Missouri.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 2, 2007 at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Lawrence Matlock officiating assisted by Reverend Greg Richardson. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 12-8 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
