"Dignity without compromise"


Bill J. Crawford, longtime Okmulgee area resident, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2002 at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital. He was 69. Mr. Crawford was born April 4, 1933 in Nuyaka to A.W. and Dorthy (Slankard) Crawford. Before retiring, he had worked in the oil field. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Dorthy Crawford of Okmulgee, five sisters, Sue Howard, Kay Richardson, and Wanda Salyer, all of Okmulgee, Eleanora Boyer of Bedford, TX and Loretta Honeywell of Sapulpa, two brothers, Gene Crawford of Holdenville and Andrew Crawford of Great Bend, KS, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 16, 2002 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
