Lester Daniels

Lester Daniels 96, a life long resident of Okmulgee County died October 6, 2007 in Morris, Oklahoma. He was born January 6, 1911 in Morris to Mart and Rosa (Daniel) Daniels. He married Mary Kennedy in 1931 in Morris, Oklahoma. Lester was a charter member of the Town & Country Christian Church in Okmulgee. He was a fireman in Okmulgee for 20 years and retired as the Fire Chief of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He loved growing and selling cantaloupes. He wife Mary, his parents, two brothers Fred & Wilber, three sisters Deraughn, Mae and Rachel preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons; Marine and Tom Daniels both of Morris, one daughter Betty Tetik of Perry, Oklahoma, two sisters; Willis McGowin of Okmulgee and Thelma Daniels of Lawrence, Kansas, one brother; J.C. Daniels of El Cajon, California, 8 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the Town and Country Christian Church in Okmulgee with Rev. Tim Reeves officiating. Burial will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee 12-8 pm. Condolences may be made at mcclendon-winters.com.
