"Dignity without compromise"


John Davis, Okmulgee resident, passed away Monday morning, December 30, 2002 at the Veteranís Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was 51 years of age. Mr. Davis was born October 15, 1951 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Wesley and Norma (Wood) Davis. He had served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He had worked as a tankerman for Petro Chemical Engineer and most recently at LRS in Beggs, prior to his illness. He loved music, especially his guitar, enjoyed woodworking, was a railroad buff, loved airplanes, was a pilot and enjoyed astronomy. He had enjoyed sailing in his 62í sailboat, and loved to fish and cook. Mr. Davis spent most of his life in San Antonio and then Houston, moving to Okmulgee in the Spring of 1999. As a young boy he was a Boy Scout then an Eagle Scout.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Wesley Davis, of Okmulgee, a sister, Sandra Davis, of the home, and five children, Jennifer, Tonya, John, Kelly, and Josh Davis, all of Houston.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 31, 2002 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Guy Langston officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Memorial contributions may be made to the organization of the donorís choice.
