Doyle Hamilton Dixon

Doyle Hamilton Dixon, Liberty resident, died Wednesday morning, August 16, 2006 at his home. He was 78 years of age. He was born March 31, 1928 in Cookson, Oklahoma to Wilton William and Clara Leslie (Bandy) Dixon. He served in the United States Army during World War II and on July 2, 1948 married Lillie Mae Dearmore in VanBuren, Arkansas. Doyle worked for many years as a driller as well as farming and ranching. Doyle owned and operated Dixon Drilling Company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, horse racing and an avid OU Sooner fan. He was a longtime member of the Liberty Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Carolyn Sue Dill and three sisters, Nadine Hill, Ruby Ledford and June Delaughder.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lillie M. Dixon, a son, Richard Dixon and wife Myrna of Morris, daughters, Vicky White and husband Rickie of Ft. Gibson, Doylene White and husband Roger of Ft. Gibson and Kelly Davis and husband Al of Nixa, Missouri, brothers, J.C. Dixon and wife Mary of Morris, Junior Dixon and wife Mona of Blackwell and James Dixon and wife Glenda of Morris, sisters, Pauline Miller and husband Willard of Okmulgee, Edna Edwards and husband Harold of McAlister and Kay McGahey of Houston and eight grandchildren; Melissa Kay, Michael Roy, Susan Lynn, Andy, Justin, Kendall, Chase and Cole and nine great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 19, 2006 at Liberty Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Ward and Bro. Alvin Dearmore. Interment will follow in the Council Hill Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Bob Miller, Jess Aldridge, Bob Ross, Mark Beaver, Tom Porter and M.C. Leist. Friends may visit the funeral home Friday from 1 until 8 pm at the Morris location.
