"Dignity without compromise"
Glenn William Doede 79, a resident of Okmulgee, Oklahoma died in Okmulgee on Friday, September 20, 2002. Mr. Doede was born on July 13, 1923 in Fenwood, Wisconsin to Bernhard A. and Ernestine (Hermann) Doede. He was retired building contractor. He married Phyllis Schmitt on June 12, 1948 in Merrill, Wisconsin. Glenn interests included going to swap meets with his son, antique cars and fishing. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Okmulgee. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother Francis Doede and a sister Elva Anderson.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis of the home, a daughter Christine Ursin and husband John of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a son Steve Doede and wife Nancy of Okmulgee, Oklahoma and one granddaughter Becky Doede of Okmulgee, Two sisters Hazel Schwartz and Dorothy Scoles both of Hartford Wisconsin other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at 11 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Myles Shultz officiating. Graveside services will be on Thursday at 3 PM at the Maple Grove Cemetery in the township of Maine, Wisconsin, with Rev. Jay Kamrath officiating.
Pallbearers will be Fred Landgraf, Mike Avant, Bobby Franklin, Jerry Remington, Frank Holderness and Eldon Jarvis.
Visitation will be on Monday from 10 am-8 pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee. The family suggests Memorials be made in his name to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 1314 East 6th Street, Okmulgee, Oklahoma 74447 or the American Cancer Society.
