McCLENDON-WINTERS FUNERAL HOME "Dignity without Compromise"
Charles Dowland Charles Dowland 69, a resident of Beggs, died in Beggs on
Thursday, May 03, 2007. He was born in Beggs on January 21,
1938 to Ordell Leonard and Pearl (Gonseth) Dowland. Charles
graduated from Broken Arrow High School and attended the
Oklahoma Military Academy in Claremore. He was a machinist
and work for several companies and retired from Braden-Winch
Company after 30 years of service. He was a member of the
International Machinists Union. Charles enjoyed fishing,
woodworking and computers. His father preceded him in death. Survivors include his mother Pearl Dowland of the home in
Beggs, two sisters Mary Louise Kouplen and her husband Ron
of Tulsa, Helen Lomax and her husband Phil of Tuttle, OK,
one brother David L. Dowland of Tulsa, three aunts Hazel
Laffon of Tulsa, Alta Mae Holloway of Preston, Wanda
Ashtenberner of California, ten nieces and nephews, six
great nieces and nephews, and two great great nieces and
nephews. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 2
p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Beggs with
Pastor Robert Yandall officiating. Burial will follow in the
Beggs Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday 12-8 p.m.
