"The Choice of More Okmulgee Area Families"

Pearl Dowland

Pearl Lucille Dowland lived her life under one guideline, Love Unconditionally. Pearl has cared for her family since she was 13, raising her brother and sisters. When she met the love of her life she married and had four children of her own which in turn gave her 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. However, there are many more that she touched and considered family. She never failed to give out her love and great wisdom when anyone was in need. Pearl was full of life and love for 92 years and all those who knew her were blessed by her presence in their lives. Her memory will live on as she lives through us by the words of wisdom she gave, the things she taught us, and more importantly the love she shared with us. Pearl made her home in the house that love built in Beggs, Oklahoma for 37 years. Pearl moved into her Heavenly Fatherís mansion on August 5, 2008 at 5pm. There she will be preparing to meet us again with love. She would tell us all that this is not good-bye, but I will see you soon. It is with love and joy that we celebrate her life the way she would want us to. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, her eldest son, and her brother and sisters. Pearl is survived by one sister, Hazel Laffoon of Tulsa, Oklahoma, two daughters and a son. Mary and Ron Kouplen of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Helen and Phil Lomax of Tuttle, Oklahoma and David Dowland of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 9 grandchildren: Phillip and Patty Lomax of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Lynn and Jim Tucker of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Pamela and Martin Bradley of Altus, Oklahoma, Lewis Kouplen of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Larry and Viv Kouplen of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Pearl also shared her adoring love and affection with 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. We will miss your presence tremendously, but will carry you in our hearts forever. Friends may visit the funeral home from 10-6 P.M. on Friday. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Jonathan C. Reichman officiating. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
