Cleamo Xerxes Dugger

Cleamo Xerxes Dugger, 84, a resident of Okmulgee, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital. He was born June 22, 1921 in Western Grove, Arkansas to Columbus Mancil and Ina Levada (Branscum) Dugger. He married Juanita Attaway on November 10, 1944 in Longview, Texas. Cleamo was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He was a High School Teacher, having taught in Morris and Poteau. After retiring in 1984, Cleamo and Juanita moved to Beggs where they lived until moving to Baptist Village two years ago. Cleamo was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Beggs for over 20 years and a member of the Retired Teacherís Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary W. Slover and Olevia Ann Dugger, four brothers, G.C. Dugger, Herbert Dugger, Monsa Cleo Dugger and Theodore Dugger, a grandson, Jamey Jones, and a son-in-law, Cal Oxford. Survivors include his wife, Juanita of the home, a son, Perry Cleamo Dugger of Tulsa, daughters, LuAnn Jones and husband Gary of The Colony, Texas, Judy Oxford of Mounds, B.J. Jackson and husband Troy of Sand Springs, Carolyn Fisher and husband Lloyd of Sapulpa, Rita Bortmes and husband Cliff of Mounds, nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 30, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Beggs with Reverend Thom Chappelle officiating. Interment will follow in the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. Casketbearers will be Michael Jackson, Lloyd Fisher, Jr., Chris Oxford, Jon Jones, and Monsa Dugger. The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday evening at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
