Linnie Easterling

Linnie Easterling, 91, died in Tulsa on Wednesday, October 15, 2008. He was born to J.W. and Bama (Wolf) Easterling on December 12, 1916 in Kingsland, Arkansas. Linnie was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II. He was retired from East Central Electric Company. Linnie was a Mason and a member of the American Legion White-Williams Post 10. He enjoyed the Methodist mens group and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Okmulgee. He also enjoyed bowling and fishing but did not get to go often.

Linnie was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice Easterling who died in January of 1990, his parents, one sister, Pauline Wilson, and three brothers; Hugh Easterling, Bill Easterling, and Troy Easterling.

He is survived by his wife Georgia (Carter) Been-Easterling of the home, three sisters; Louise Cagle of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Ruby Rich of Fordyce, Arkansas, and Lorene Best of Monroe, Louisiana, three stepsons; Ronnie Been and wife Kathy of Okmulgee, Rickey Been and wife Wanda of Colton, and Randy Been and wife Shirley of Okemah, one stepdaughter, Tammy Britt and husband Monte of Dewar, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren

Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Okmulgee on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Craig Denslow officiating. Interment will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Viewing will be on Sunday from 12 Noon until 4:00 P.M. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge or the First United Methodist Church.
