Thelma May Brunson English
Thelma May Brunson English was born on December 31, 1920 in Tolleson, Arizona and passed away on October 24th, 2005 at her home in Okmulgee. Thelma grew up in Tulare County California where she met her husband of 58 years, Oklahoma native Wayne Earl English.
They were married on November 8, 1947 in Reno, Nevada and moved to Oklahoma in 1955. During WW II, Thelma worked as a " Rosie the Riveter" on B-17 bombers. She was an accomplished Oil Painter, China Painter and writer. Thelma was a member of the Church of Christ, having become a Christian at the age of 15. Her parents, Daniel A. Brunson and Manila Whalen Brunson, and 2 brothers preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, daughters Christine Clayton and husband Tom of Muskogee and Elizabeth Holleyman and husband Greg of Edmond, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
Services and interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee at 2:00 P.M. Thursday October 27, 2005 with Mr. Paul Arnold officiating. Services are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Search program, Edmond, Ok
Viewing will be on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 from 12 noon until 8:00 PM at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
